Tributes have been paid to a Swindon man who died in a serious crash on a busy road.

Alexey Neeshpapa, 37, suffered fatal injuries in a two-vehicle collision on the B4696 at Pavenhill, in Purton, on April 22.

The father of two, known to many as Alex, was rushed to Southmead Hospital in Bristol by air ambulance but later died.

He leaves behind his children Nia and Nico, and their mother Natalie.

His family has now released a moving tribute in which they spoke of the shock that the incident has caused them.

They said: “Words cannot possibly even begin to convey the sense of shock and loss that we feel currently.

“The loss of a child, especially your only child is the worst tragedy any mother can experience.”

Alexey was a registered organ donor and his family says five people have already or will receive the “gift of life” following his death.

They added they hope the recipients will go on to live “long and happy lives.”

The 37-year-old, who worked in Swindon as a doorman for some time, was described as a “beautiful soul” who was always there for others.

His family added: “Alex was handsome, smart and had a beautiful soul.

“He could turn his hands to anything, tried to see the good in everyone, lent a hand to anyone in need, and was always there for his family and friends.

“He was a shining star and brought light and joy to anyone who met him.

“Now, that light has gone out and life will never be the same.”

Tributes to Alexey have poured in from those who knew him since his death, and a GoFundMe page set up to make his family’s lives “a little easier” has already raised £7,500.

His family has thanked those who have offered condolences since the incident.

“We are truly humbled by the amount of people that have reached out to us offering both words of support and condolence at this terrible time”, they said.

“Alex will live on through both his children and the many happy memories that have been shared with us.

“We love you very much, and you will always be in our hearts.”

The family has asked for privacy during this time.

One other man, in his 40s from Purton, also suffered serious injuries in the crash.

The incident took place at around 3pm and closed the road for several hours.
