Thames Water must improve its service

In the past week, we have seen Sarah Bentley - chief executive of Thames Water - resign her position.

I put it down to the fact that she wasn't up to her job.

In my experience of dealing with Thames Water, she is not the only one.

The customer care department ,in particular, are dreadful.

They have a couldn't care less attitude when it comes to dealing with their customers.

I have, over the weekend, contacted my MP Robert Buckland to let him know of the service I have been given.

Isn't it time this awful company was nationalised?

Even fifty eight percent of Tory voters think that the water companies should be.

Whitworth Road cemetery visits

I can remember, when I was a child, going to Whitworth Road cemetery. every Sunday after tea with my dad and mum, my granddad, and my uncle and aunty with their daughter.

This was Grandma's grave.

My cousin and I had the task of putting the dead flowers in the bin and filling the watering-can.

Then we had to get down on our knees and sort the marble chips, the green from the white.

Every Sunday for years, wet or shine.

Who looks after it now?

I do not know as it is years since I have been, I do not think that I would find it.

Is it really the council's job to look after the cemetery?

My husband and I have arranged to be taken to the Crematorium in a white van when dead, and our ashes to be scattered over the fields.

No service, just taken and disposed of.

The cost of a funeral today is unreal!

You will be thought of from your family and friends - what more is necessary?

Politicians cannot be trusted to tell truth

Over the years, I have often referred to the inability of politicians of all stripes to tell the truth.

With regular monotony promises, vows and pledges morph into aspirations.

We see it with both local and national issues.

However, the people are now making their views known on the failings of politicians who promise much and deliver little.

Rishi Sunak promised the country five things.

To halve inflation, lower waiting lists, cut debt, grow the economy, and stop the boats.

He will fail to fulfil any of the five.

For which the British people will punish him and the Conservatives by consigning them to electoral oblivion.

The only sad thing is that Starmer won't be any better.

Replacement bus station is welcome

I caught the 55 Bus early on Tuesday evening, une 27, from Swindon Bus Station.

I was appalled that a town of Swindon's size and importance in Wiltshire could have a bus station which seemed to be in complete disrepair.

It was dirty, there was nowhere to sit, it wasnot a place where one would want to come to.

Is it due to be replaced?
