THE Swindon 50 Shades Of Grey Club is recruiting for new members to join their ranks.

The group, formerly known as the Good Companions, was first formed 1978 for elderly people living in the area.

The group was relaunched in March this year following a £100 grant from the Toothill Big Local million pound committee.

Jean Carey, 98, the founder of the Toothill Good Companions, said: “It’s really good to have a new club to go to.

“Older people need social activities to get themselves out of the house.

“Let’s hope this club lasts as long as the last one.”

The new club was funded with the help of the Toothill Million Big Local lottery project, after Toothill was chosen as one of the first 50 areas of 150 across the country to benefit from the Lottery Fund.

The group meets every Monday from 2pm to 4pm at the Toothill Community Centre, where they enjoy socialising, playing cards, bingo and board games.

This year the group have also enjoyed cake decorating, quizzes, a monthly raffle, bingo, card and board games, supervised exercise, aromatherapy insight, guess the smell and food tasting.
