YOUNGSTERS have created a new advert to promote the youth website WaggleB from scratch and are set to see it aired to the public this week.

The 30-second advert has been devised, filmed and edited by a group of young people working with Swindon’s Create Studios, who launched the WaggleB website, Facebook page and mobile phone app promoting all of the fun and positive activities available for 11 to 19 year olds to do in and around Swindon The scheme was partly funded by Swindon Council.

WaggleB was created several months ago to make it easier for young people to find out about activities and events locally for their age group, allowing users to search by subject, venue, date and time.

Marilyn Fitzgerald, production manager for Create Studios, said: We had a group of about 15 to 20 young people come up with the treatment for the film, do the sound and the video from scratch.

“It’s basically a boy and a girl who wake up and have nothing to do, so they look at the website and find out what’s on. They filmed at the Link Centre, a skatepark and gigs and used a helmet camera to get some point-of-view footage.

“It’s great to see young people making it for their peers and it will be nice for them to see it go live, which it should do this week.’’ The advert will be screened across Swindon schools as well as Wharf Green’s ‘Big Screen’.
