THAMESDOWN Transport is asking for the public’s views on a number of changes currently being planned to take place at the end of May.

From May 27, it is proposed that Service 2 from Fleming Way to Covingham and Nythe will run every 12 minutes instead of every 15 minutes on Mondays to Fridays, between 7.45am and 6pm.

Service 3, the non-stop service between Fleming Way and New College which runs on college days only, will be withdrawn and replaced with additional buses on Service 16, which will now call at all bus stops along the route.

Service 16 is also planned to run every 12 minutes instead of every 15 minutes on Mondays to Fridays, between 6.30am and 6pm.

Service 19B from Sparcells to New College, which runs on college days only, will run five minutes earlier from May 27.

Thamesdown is currently liaising with Swindon Council regarding the future of Service 20 on Saturdays, which runs from the bus station to Greenbridge Retail Park via Stratton, and Service 24 from Fleming Way to Blunsdon.

The bus company says it will no longer be able to run these services on a commercial basis after May 24 as the revenue from passengers is not meeting the costs of operation.

Paul Jenkins, managing director of Thamesdown Transport said: “We recognise that these proposed changes will affect a large number of our passengers and so would like to receive their views before our plans are finalised.

“Leaflets listing the changes are available on the buses and a feedback form is available on our website at www.thamesdownbus.com.”

Comments must be received by March 21 and can also be made by emailing customerservices@thamesdown-transport.co.uk or by writing to Thamesdown Transport, Barnfield Road, Swindon SN2 2DJ.
