A MAN who is accused of threatening to kill his former wife is to face a trial by judge and jury.
Swindon man Stewart Stroud is also charged with putting the woman in fear of violence through harassment.
The 37-year-old, of Dowling Street, pleaded not guilty to threats to kill and harassment when he appeared at Swindon Crown Court.
Stroud is accused of telling a third party that he is going to kill his former wife on Tuesday September 24 last year.
He is also said to have made numerous phone calls and sent many texts, threatened her and also turned up at her place of work.
Recorder Alastair Malcolm QC adjourned the case to Tuesday August 26 when Stroud will face a trial.
He released him on bail on condition he does not contact his former wife except through solicitors or social services, or go to her address.
