THREE weeks of roadworks in Whitehill Way will no longer affect morning commuters.

Swindon Council’s resurfacing work, which begins on Tuesday, was to take place between 8am and 6pm but now parts of the road will be closed from 9.30am until 7.30pm instead.

Council spokesman Kevin Burchall said: “Sections of Whitehill Way between Mead Way and Hook Street will be closed between May 6 and 23. The work will take place in three phases and will now start at 9.30am until 7.30pm to minimise the impact on the peak morning period.

“Access to businesses and for residents will be maintained throughout the road closures and traffic marshals will be on hand to assist drivers.

“We would advise drivers to allow more time for their journeys.”

Tuesday’s work is between Mead Way and Fiveways roundabout. Eastleaze roundabout will remain open for residents of Eastleaze and Langstone Way.
