WILTSHIRE Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault in Swindon.

The incident took place in the underpass close to the Oasis leisure centre, which is accessed from Station Road, shortly after 11pm on Thursday, May 8.

A 24-year-old woman was assaulted from behind by a man.

The victim was left with serious head injuries which required hospital treatment.

As part of the ongoing police investigation, officers are keen to speak to six individuals who may have information which could prove vital.

These people may not realise the importance of anything they have seen but are urged to contact police as soon as possible.

Detective Sergeant Gemma Vinton from Wiltshire Police said: “This was a serious attack on a lone female victim who has been left understandably shaken by what has happened.

"We are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or has information regarding it.

"In particular, I would like to speak to each of the six people shown in the CCTV images attached.

"They may hold vital information in relation to this case”.

In addition to these six people, officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have any information which could assist in apprehending the offender.
