WILTSHIRE Police are warning residents not to become complacent over crime during the warm weather by leaving doors and windows open.
They say this is providing opportunist burglars easy access into homes.
Residents are asked to lock doors when going out and not leave any accessible windows open in unoccupied rooms, no matter what the temperature is or how long they intend to be away.
And police are urging residents to tell police if they see anyone acting suspiciously in or around any premises and, if possible, take registration numbers of any unusual vehicles.
Police advise residents to always take their keys out of locks, as thieves may be able to reach in and open the door.
