A NIGHT out in Old Town earlier this year ended with an attempted sexual assault after a woman brought a man back to her home in the town centre.

Four months ago, the 28-year-old woman had been visiting premises around the Old Town area and at one stage got chatting with a man early in the night.

She had visited a number of pubs during the night and proceeded to The Vic on Victoria Road where she ended her night out. She then went on to get some food from one of the nearby takeaways, Mr Cod.

At this point she got into a car which had been parked outside the entrance of Mr Cod, in which the male she had been speaking to earlier that evening was sitting in the back seat.

The car then drove to her home address in Stafford Street, where the man proceeded to attempt to sexually abuse her.

Police are seeking witnesses to the incident which occurred early in the morning of Sunday 18 May after the night out during the previous Saturday.

He is described as a white male with a muscular build and a shaved head. It is thought that on the night in question he was wering a dark coloured t-shirt.
