A JUDGE has issued a warrant for the arrest of a man who is accused of threatening to kill a woman and possessing an offensive weapon.

Mohamed Ali had travelled to Swindon Crown Court from London for his case, but disappeared before he was called.

Judge Peter Blair QC said as the 32-year-old attended and was seen by his lawyer he would issue a warrant with bail meaning he would not be detained by police.

Ali, of Bow, east London, is charged with threats to kill, attempted grievous bodily harm with intent on the same woman and possessing a hammer on Manchester Road.

Ali has been ordered to appear before the court on December 23.
