A WOMAN facing a string of fraud offences will be arriving at court in a police car after she missed her day in court on Wednesday.

Thirty-six-year-old Christina Rushton of Morse Street faces ten charges of fraud by false representation and an additional charge of theft.

She is accused of damaging two pairs of shoes in Evans and then claiming a refund on them, causing a loss of £117 on August 3, and doing the same to a £30 ironing board in Sainsbury’s on May 14 and the same again at Sainsbury’s with a £60 microwave on May 26.

She is further accused of selecting a microwave from Sainsbury’s on May 31 and obtaining a refund on it, damaging three boxes of wine in the Co-operative on June 4 and trying to obtain a refund. She is alleged to have repeated the trick at B&Q on June 22 to a £235 shower door and again on June 26 when she damaged a microwave valued at £70. On July 23 it is alleged she damaged a bag, but was provided with another item rather than a refund.

It is further alleged on May 14 that she stole £3-wroth of Lucozade and £2.75 of crisps from Sainsbury’s.

But after missing her day in court to answer the charges on Wednesday the magistrates issued a warrant for her arrest, not backed for bail.
