A NEW wellbeing group will soon be opening in West Swindon to encourage healthy eating and a lifestyle.

Friends and business partners Lisa Curtis, 49, and Kay Storey, 58, have been working together to gear up for the launch of their Healthybods group at 121 Fitness Studio in West Swindon which will launch on Wednesday, January 25.

Their aim is to bring together the community through education about healthy eating and living tips.

Lisa, Healthybods coach and co-creator said: "Many people just don’t know where to start when it comes to improving their health."

"The fact is many people only react when they have a health scare or someone close to them does. We are about tooling people up to proactively take control of their health, so they can enjoy life to the full."

Both women say they have tired a range of fad diets and as a result want to provide a place where people can go and see results.

They will look at ways to keep hydrated and the causes and effects of sugar intake and its influences.

Kay said: "We are running programmes for anyone who wanted to retrain their body and mind. We want to get people feeling healthy and happy.

"I have been eating clean for the past ten days and I have already loss eight pounds. It is as simple as knowing what sort of bad food to cut out."

Healthybods will involve a range of weekly sessions, workshops, guest speakers and will offer a lot of practical help and support.

"We make it easy to understand and as simple as possible to do. Healthybods is a place where people want to come and where they can go away with skills, info and the tools to help."

The women hope to connect with around 5,000 people and businesses. They have both been handing out leaflets in the town centre to spread the word and are also encouraging people who have their own health plan to come along and learn more.

Kay said: "We want to look further into the science of health and fitness and share how important it is to live a good healthy lifestyle."

The sessions will be held at 121 Fitness Studio, Unit 83, Basepoint, West Swindon, at 8pm on Wednesdays.

Each session is pay as you go and costs £5. Linked to the group will be classes each Saturday at the studio, to help people increase their activity.

"If you are serious about getting a healthier lifestyle, come and see us, we can’t wait to welcome and help you, we’ll have great fun along the way too," said Lisa.
