A SWINDON model is enjoying more than a mere 15 minutes of fame as he currently stars in E4’s reality TV smash Coach Trip.

Park South’s Conrad Williams, who last year was crowned Mr British Isles at a spectacular show in Liverpool, can be seen on the silver screen each weeknight at 7.30pm for the next six weeks.

Coach Trip, which has kept viewers entertained since 2005, is a reality show that captures the drama and high jinks of a group of twentysomethings as they take a trip around the Mediterranean, hitting all the popular night spots.

The show, currently in its 15th series, sees Conrad and 13 other contestants hit the Spanish coast in style as they stop at such popular resorts as Malaga, Benidorm and Valencia, not to mention party capitals Ibiza and Magaluf.

Conrad, 25, who has been modelling professionally for the past three years for big names such as Next and Very.com, described the show as “Big Brother on wheels”.

He said: “I heard about Coach Trip through my agent and I found out I would actually be on it back in September. It was filmed in November and the first airing was on Monday night on E4.

“It was a fantastic experience, it’s the best thing I have ever done. There’s lots and lots of drama and it’s very entertaining. We all bonded and it was great to make some new friends.”

The contestants take part in a whole range of challenges including abseiling down waterfalls, rock climbing, lending a hand at an ostrich farm and honing their culinary skills with a chorizo making class.

Conrad, who has lived in Swindon for the past four and a half years, said: “It was a crazy experience, my social media has been going a bit mad ever since. My mum is very proud and all my friends and family have been getting together to watch it.”

Speaking about being crowned Mr British Isles last year, Conrad said: “It was crazy to be named the winner, I was buzzing. I just couldn’t believe that I’d won. It was a truly amazing experience.

“I was up against people from all over the UK. I applied and I smashed it. You just strut your stuff and give the judges a wink and hope for the best.

“I’m a very strong believer in being positive. Don’t let people get you down, just keep following your dreams.”

Looking to the future, he said: “I hope to have a few more TV shows lined up, but can’t say much yet. If these opportunities come my way that is definitely what I would like to do.”
