A NEW change to the rules for jobseekers is coming into force at the end of this month that requires people to put together a CV and have an email address.

Solomon Training UK Ltd, based in Shaftesbury Centre in Percy Street, can help local jobseekers comply with the new rules.

The company runs a basic IT course, which includes tuition on how to set up an email account and, if a jobseeker is eligible, the course is free.

Help is also available in putting together a CV for prospective employers.

Over the past few weeks, the company has seen an increase in the number of new jobseekers booking on to their basic-level IT course.

Director Tania Jones said: “We’ve noticed more jobseekers are enrolling on our basic level course and we believe this increase in learners is partly due to the need for jobseekers to comply with the DWP rules for new claimants.”

Over the past year, the company has delivered 634 IT qualifications to 271 of their learners and 201 with IT qualifications are now in work. For further information Solomon Training can be contacted on 01793 610710.
