SWINDON is set to be hit by heavy rains and storms on Thursday as a weather front sweeps across the south west.
A yellow weather warning has been issued by the Met Office, which says there could be up to 40mm of rain and possible thunder storms.
Although the warning covers much of the day, the worst part of the rain is expected to hit in morning.
A spokesman for the Met Office said: “At this stage it is too early to say more precisely where and when the rain will hit at this stage.
“The warning will come into effect from 3am until 7pm. We are expecting something in the region of 40mm of rain so there is a potential for standing water on the roads.”
