A PENSIONER accused of sexually abusing two girls in Swindon in the 1960s has been released on bail by a judge.

Barry Thomas is said to have repeatedly molested the first girl at Lydiard Park and in Wootton Bassett Road between 1966 and 1969.

And the 71-year-old is also accused of abusing another girl in the town between 1964 and 1966.

No charges were formally put to Thomas, of Bramble Road, Elgin, and he did not enter any pleas during the brief hearing at Swindon Crown Court.

He faces two counts of indecent assault of a girl under 14 and four of indecency with a child.

Judge Tim Mousley QC adjourned the case to January 2 and released Thomas on bail on the condition he does not contact the complainants.
