A VAN collided with a lorry on the A419, near the Commonhead roundabout, this morning, closing the southbound carriageway.
Shortly before 8.40am, a white, Citroen van hit the rear of a lorry, injuring the driver of the former, in a collision which required Wiltshire Police, Wiltshire Fire & Rescue and South West Ambulance Service.
The driver of the lorry suffered minor injuries, but it was the male driver of the van who was taken to Great Western Hospital with abdominal injuries.
The carriageway was closed for around two hours while recovery of the vehicles was organised.
Two fire crews from Stratton attended after a caller suggested the van driver was trapped, but he had gotten himself out by the time they arrived.
A significant amount of oil stretched across both carriageways as a result of the collision.
