A BIZARRE incident in which a line of chalk appeared on a garden gate is being investigated by police.
Wiltshire Police are now appealing for information about what happened in Ecklington, Eldene.
A man knocked on the door of a house on Wednesday, October 19, and asked the woman who answered if he could use her phone.
When she refused he became very persistent and angry but eventually stormed off.
She then found a line drawn in chalk on her front garden gate which wasn't there before.
The man is described as in his mid 20s, 5ft 6ins tall, very slim and wearing a blue/red lumberjack shirt, light blue jeans and carrying a green satchel.
He also wore gold rimmed glasses and spoke with a local accent.
PC Lisa Draper said: "We would like to speak to anyone who may have seen a man matching this description or anyone acting suspiciously in this area around this time.
"Also, please come forward if you have experienced a similar incident."
