Goals galore in Hellenic Prem as Roberts seals points for Bassett

A LATE Jordan Roberts strike secured Wootton Bassett’s first away victory since their return to the Hellenic Premier Division.
Roberts pounced with seven minutes remaining to seal a 3-2 win at Kidlington last night.
Tommy Castle had given the hosts the lead midway through the first half but a quickfire Bassett double through Lewis Chatwin and Ryan Stanners turned the game on its head.
Kidlington restored parity when skipper Lewis Brownhill netted on the hour before Roberts’ late heroics sealed maximum points for Bassett.
Highworth won another thriller at Brimscombe thanks to a last-minute strike from TJ Bohane.
The forward hit the target twice in the 4-3 win, with Aaron Maximen also among the goals as the Worthians came from 3-2 down to pinch the points.
On a high-scoring evening in the top flight, Shrivenham came unstuck, 5-3, at Flackwell Heath.
Dave Turner’s side were always playing catch-up, as Josh Fowler equalised to make it 1-1 and Nathan Blackford reduced the arrears to 3-2 before Richie Miles levelled things up once again.
But the home side finished strongly and two late goals finally saw off Shrivvy’s stubborn resistance.
In the Southern Premier, Cirencester won 3-1 against Taunton.
Lee Smith put Ciren ahead after five minutes and Leigh Henry’s volley doubled the advantage before the break.
Taunton pulled one back early in the second half but Smith pounced again, against the run of play, with eight minutes left on the clock.
