OLDHAM Athletic manager Lee Johnson felt his side were superior in almost every department as they won 1-0 at Swindon Town on Saturday.
Jonathan Grounds scored the only goal of the game with 17 minutes remaining of a turgid clash at the County Ground to inflict on Town only their third home defeat of the season in League One.
After the game, Johnson lavished praise on his players for their performance in keeping Swindon at bay.
"We've come to a tough place in tough conditions and I think we've won the day - tactically, technically and effort wise,” he said.
"We've just chucked that back four together. We've done two days of work on it, which isn't enough work for any back four, but sometimes when you do that it ends up working well.
“They were very aggressive and the two central midfielders offered protection. They were well organised and made sure they were never really threatened.
“It’s a bit of good play by Harkins, a good ball in and it’s ricocheted and Groundsy is there to sweep it up. He hasn’t scored too many goals but I’m sure he’ll be having a shandy to celebrate that. There were good performances all round.”
