SWINDON Supermarine hotshot Ash Edenborough believes that the side have enough firepower to shoot themselves into the Southern League Division One South and West play-off places.

The Webbs Wood Stadium hitman took his league tally for the season to 15 with a brace in Saturday’s 4-1 victory over Godalming Town.

Together with Josh Parsons, who also netted twice at the weekend, Supermarine look to have found that midas touch in attack.

And Marine boss Dave Webb will need his two strikers on form again tonight when they entertain Taunton Town.

“It is going well at the moment,” said Edenborough, whose last 10 goals have come in the last 10 matches. “It is back to how it was last year when we made the play-offs.

“I’m enjoying playing up front with Josh, he’s a good player and together I’m sure that we can get the club into that top five.

“But we have got to make sure that we don’t let teams back into matches like we have been doing.

“We did it on Saturday and hopefully last Tuesday’s defeat at Wimborne was just an off day.”

Although Marine sit in eighth place, two points behind North Leigh who occupy that final top five berth, Edenborough insists that they cannot panic in the final two months of the campaign.

“There is plenty of time to get ourselves in that top five,” he said.

“There is no need to panic, of course, it would be nice if we had those points already, but we just have to keep going.

“If we can get Chris Taylor back fully fit and Bamps (Dave Bampton) fit and available then we will have a good chance.”

Edenborough is also hoping that Sam Morris is back in action sooner rather than later after the midfielder was carried off on a stretcher in Saturday’s victory.

Although X-rays showed that Morris had not broken anything, he is expected to be out for a considerable amount of time with ankle ligament damge.

“You knew when he went down it was a nasty one,” Edenborough said. “He just buckled, there wasn’t a tackle.

“It could be anything between three to six weeks, maybe longer, but if we can get him back before the end of the season that would be great as he has been playing well before the injury.”

Taunton come into this match having only played four times in 2014, including Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Paulton Rovers. The Somerset side are six places and 11 points adrift of Marine.
