COTSWOLDS took five teams to a highly competitive tournament in the heat at Basingstoke.

All the teams contributed greatly to a strong weekend’s racing with some very tough opposition laying in wait.

Top team the Cyclones found themselves fifth seeds in Division Two. At the break they had won their first match but lost out in a very close match to local rivals and top seeds Bassett Dynamites.

Cyclones came out firing and won all three matches after the interval but were pipped for first by Bassett who won all five.

The day saw the return of Poppi from long term injury running some strong legs for the Cyclones.

The Zephyrs were also seeded in a higher division and the team of Jasper, Dylan, Lexi, Mopp and Heckla had a tough day in the third tier, winning one match to finish in fifth.

For the second tournament running the Typhoons lined up against sister team the Siroccos in Division Four, but had the upper hand as they finished third in the league by winning three matches.

The Siroccos had a tough day, losing young dog Scrumpy to injury during the morning session, but fought on to win one match and pick fourth place.

The Gales were in sizzling form as they went through the day unbeaten to take first place, including a winner takes all match against Dogwise Colleagues from Mere.
