NUMBER one Peter Kildemand believes an impressive home debut against Leicester tonight would do young reserve Nathan Greaves the world of good.

The 16-year-old came into the Robins team earlier this month as a replacement for Dan Greenwood, who struggled during his spell in the Elite League, and has so far scored 2+2 from his first two top tier outings.

Greaves makes his first ever appearance at Blunsdon tonight after beginning his Robins career away from home, with Kildemand convinced a good outing can bring out the best in the youngster in weeks to come.

“Nathan seems like a good kid but he is still very young,” Kildemand said.

“It’s a big step up for him but he seems really keen, which is the main thing and it would be good for him to get a good meeting. If he can do that he will get some confidence which is really important.

“We try our best to help out as much as we can and pass on some advice to the young riders but sometimes it’s hard in the middle of the meeting because there isn’t much time.

“We do our best and it’s up to all of us to help the youngsters improve.”

The Robins take on a Leicester side including Swindon old boys Mads Korneliussen and Jason Doyle tonight, with Kildemand insisting only a three-point win will do.

“It’s a bit of an old Swindon team from Leicester and that means they will know the track,” he said.

“We need every point we can get at the moment and that means we need all the points from this meeting.

“It will be hard but I’m confident we can do it.”
