FORMER Robin Nicolai Klindt will return to the Swindon team for Thursday’s clash with Leicester as a guest for Nick Morris.

Aussie Morris is riding in the Premier League Knockout Cup for Somerset against Ipswich, a meeting which takes priority due to the fact the Robins’ clash with the Lions has been rearranged after it was called off two weeks ago.

Klindt was let go by boss Alun Rossiter earlier in the season and replaced by Dakota North but, having since impressed with Scunthorpe in the Premier League and finished second in the opening round of the Danish Championship, he will now have a chance to prove himself again at Elite League level.

“It’s a shame we are without Nick this week as it’s been good to have a full team out for the last few meetings, but it will be nice to welcome Nicolai back,” Rossiter said.

“He’s been going well in the Premier League for Scunthorpe, which has been good to see, and he will be keen to put on a good show I’m sure.”

Klindt is happy to be back in Robins colours but admitted he had to think things over before accepting the guest booking.

“It’s nice to be back but I was going to say no originally because of my schedule, but when I thought things over I decided to do it,” he said.

“I missed a meeting in Glasgow last weekend so why not give it a go. I’m cleaning my bikes myself now and I’m flying to Slovenia (for a Grand Prix qualifier) on Friday morning and not back here again until next Thursday.

“But in the end I’ve decided to go for it and it will be good to ride in the Elite League again.”
