ADAM Tribbick has branded Swindon’s bowling arsenal as amongst the very best in the WEPL Glos/Wilts Division after his side’s latest victory.

Swindon beat Tewkesbury by 31 runs at the County Ground on Saturday, thanks mainly to 99 from Vibhor Yadav and Adam Tucker’s 60, but on a flat and true wicket Tribbick felt that the bowlers deserved plenty of credit.

In comfortably protecting their total of 289-8, Tucker took three wickets and Santosh Iyengar two, as Tewkesbury reached 258-9 at the close, and afterwards Tribbick heaped the praise on Swindon’s attack.

He said: “We’re not going to knock teams over for 150 or 170 every week so we have to be realistic and say when they’re going for it, we’ve just got to relax, do our thing and not get too excitable when someone misses one.

“We’ve got to keep backing each other and that’s what we did. In the end, we got the result.

“I think we’ve got one of the best bowling attacks in the league. We just keep coming at you, especially with Dave Miles coming back and Santosh being around. Then, if you look into the second team, there’s a whole stack of bowling with lads like Mike Wilson and Tom Codling.

“We’ve got really good bowlers to come in at any point and we just keep coming at you, there is no weak fifth bowler like there is in some teams, which is really good to have.”

Tucker hit 10 fours before being stumped by Freddie Humphries off the bowling of John Allcoat, while Yadav nicked behind one shy of a century.

Tribbick said: “Tucks likes to hit the ball hard and he got going well. He managed to get himself a score, which is great to see because he’s been getting a few starts. It was nice to see him get a score at last.

“We were gutted for Vib and he was obviously gutted. In terms of the team score, we were absolutely delighted. We probably could have got over 300 but in the end it was enough and it was great to see everyone getting bits and bobs and everyone chipping in.”
