SWINDON Flames Juniors enjoyed a double success on their most recent visit to Farnborough Leisure Centre with a comfortable win over KSF before a narrow victory over Oxford Hurricances.

Despite never really being at their fluent best against KSF, the Flames enjoyed another big win, with 16 goals coming at regular intervals without reply.

Will Harding put the Swindon side in front after just over a minute before the floodgates opened with Bradley Ward, Liam Coleman, Haydn Lee, Harry Gobey, Jacob Elliott-Latham and Charlie Browning all contributing to the score.

The second game of the day saw them involved in another ding-dong encounter with Oxford.

The Flames started strongly, with Harding hitting the Oxford bar within seconds of the game starting before Josh Hickman responded with a fierce shot which gave Oxford the lead.

Despite giving as good as they got, the Swindon side found themselves two down as Max Florey poked home from close range three minutes later and Josh Hickman scored a third with just under eight minutes of the opening period remaining.

Swindon opened their account through Harding with five minutes to play before, a minute later, Lee narrowed the gap further, although Hickman hit his hat-trick goal with a minute left to keep Oxford 4-2 in front at the break.

The second period saw the Flames’ strong comeback continue as Gobey scored in the first minute to narrow the gap, before Harding levelled the game and, with only 28 seconds of the match remaining Coleman netted the decisive goal.

The wins leave Flames Juniors top of the table.
