PETER Kildemand is confident he will be fully fit as he looks to continue his European Championship push in the second round in Russia tomorrow night.

The Dane was involved in a heavy crash with Pole Krzysztof Buczkowski in Thursday’s home win over Leicester, leaving him shaken and forcing him to pull out of the meeting after heat 11.

However, Kildemand is hopeful of shaking off his niggles in time for his first visit to Togliatti, where he will be looking to build on his second place in the opening round in Gustrow.

“It was a heavy one and I was a bit shaken with a few bumps on the head and my lower back, but it’s not like I have broken my neck or anything like that so I should be fine,” he said.

“Hopefully I will be fine for Russia and I’m travelling on Friday and then will have Saturday just to chill so I should be okay because I can sort my body out a little.

“I’m really looking forward to it because I’ve never been there before, so I want to do the best I can.

“After this one we get to go to some tracks I know a bit better (Holsted in Denmark and Czestochowa in Poland) so if I can do okay in Russia I will be happy.”

Despite finishing second in the opening round, Kildemand sits third in the table behind Nicki Pedersen and Januz Kolodziej, with three rounds remaining in the series.

After competing in Togliatti, Kildemand will be rushing back to the UK to ride for the Robins at Belle Vue on Monday. The Dane is due to arrive at Manchester airport at around 5pm for the 7.30pm meeting.
