JAKE Reeves believes that when Swindon Town get into gear no team is capable of stopping them.

Having made his full league debut against Colchester at the weekend, it is clear that the former Brentford man has fully bought into the philosophy extolled by Mark Cooper and his coaching staff at Town.

The club rate the 21-year-old highly and talks are ongoing about extending his deal beyond its initial expiry in January.

In the first half on Saturday, he demonstrated why but, after the break, faded.

Reeves understands that Town need to be consistent with their play if they are to finish teams off and get the rewards for their good football.

“We have a philosophy (here) and that is the way all of the players know how to play,” said the midfielder.

“We need to stick to that for us to play well and for us to create chances. That all comes down to our philosophy. It is working, we are creating chances, it is just the defending side that we need to work on.

“We go into every game thinking of nothing but three points, especially with the amount of play and the style of play that we want.

“When we produce that we should really get the result that we want.”

It is likely the former Tottenham man will drop to the bench for tonight’s clash with Chesterfield. Nathan Thompson is set to return to sweeper, meaning Louis Thompson can resume his central midfield berth.
