SWINDON Supermarine manager Dave Webb is hoping to have a new face on board for tomorrow’s trip to Cinderford Town.

The depleted Webb’s Wood Stadium squad saw Luke Abrahart join the lengthy injury list on Tuesday night following the 3-2 defeat to Bridgwater Town, a match that saw Luke Hopper sent off.

And while Webb has put in three seven day notices for players, he is only able to speak to one of them prior to the Southern League Division One South and West trip to the Forest of Dean.

“One of those notices is up today,” Webb said last night. “I’m hoping that I can get to speak to him after training – others will be next week.”

The Marine boss is also likely to ask skipper Dave Bampton to continue to play through the pain barrier.

The defender has been on the bench for the last two matches but has been struggling with a hip problem and following the ankle injury to Abrahart was forced into action.

“Dave will probably play, we have been trying to give him a bit of a break as his hip has been getting progressively worse, but it is needs must.”

Following their trip to the Causeway tomorrow, Supermarine will not be in league action until November 22, when they travel to Merthyr Town.

“On the one hand it is good that we will have a little bit of a break to get some players back, but we couldn’t have asked for a harder match to return on,” Webb said.

The Marine chief also knows that the Foresters will be gunning for revenge tomorrow after the South Marston men inflicted a 4-1 defeat on them in the Red Insure Cup.

“We played extremely well that night, but it was the Red Insure Cup and this is the league – they are sitting nicely in the table,” Webb said.

“I’m sure that John (Brough, manager) will have them fired up, Cinderford is never an easy place to go.”

Meanwhile, in the Premier Division, Chippenham Town manager Mark Collier is sweating over the fitness of midfielders Michael Pook and Jordan Roberts for tomorrow’s visit of Histon.

Brian Hughes’ Cirencester Town make the journey to Dunstable Town looking to build on Wednesday night’s Gloucestershire Senior Cup success at Mangotsfield United.
