Mr Guppy was a legend. I had Mr " Waliby" White for Chemistry. Every time we got out of control, he would call for reinforcements and back up.
Step in Mr Guppy, he managed to put the fear of the Lord into us.
He even caught me whispering to a friend and bellowed " Look here sonny, I'll cook your goose, if you don't shut up" lol.
Lush man, total professional and sadly missed.
Sir, RIP.
Sadly missed, never forgotten xx

Sad to hear this - Mr Guppy is always a name that's mentioned when we talk about the days at school. Its a shame that there were not more Mr Guppy's teaching as he was a legend. Just wish that my kids could have had him as a teacher!
RIP Sir

So sorry to hear about the passing of Mr Guppy. He was my Chemistry Teacher from 1992-1997 and although I hated the subject he always made it fun with his jokes and sarcasm. I always remember seeing him driving into school in his little blue-grey car (I think it was a Morris Minor)
He really was a great teacher, RIP Mr Guppy and thankyou for great Science lessons.

Very sorry to hear of the death of my former teacher. He despaired at my ineptitude at Chemistry, but I remember him fondly. He could never quite get my name right and called me Bronwyn from 1978-1983! I also remember his passion for bees - my dad was a fellow bee keeper. He was a lovely man. My condolences to all his family. Rest in peace. Bryony.
