(BUS LANES, BUS GATES AND BUS ONLY ROADS) ORDER 2014 AMENDMENT ORDER (No. 2) 2017
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on the 23 August 2017 Swindon Borough Council made the above Order under the relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, The Traffic Management Act 2004 and The Transport Act 2000 and all other enabling powers and in consultation with the Chief Officer of the Police. The reasons for making is Order is as follow:
1. To include a new definition for "emergency services vehicle" meaning vehicle operated by the Police, Fire & Rescue or Ambulance Service are permitted to use bus lanes, bus gates and bus only roads when responding to an emergency incident.
2. Allowing vehicle on hire from Dial A Ride which displays an authorised bus lane user sticker to proceed in the bus lane.
3. All reference to the TSRGD 2002 to be updated to TSRGD 2016.
The Order will be operative as of 28 August 2017 and a copy of the Order documentation may be inspected at the One Stop Shop, Wat Tyler House, Swindon.
If you wish to question the validity of the Order, or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirements of that Act or of any instrument made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may, within 6 weeks from 23 August 2017 apply to the High Court for this purpose.
