A Musical Experience by Ella G

At Greendown Secondary School a music workshop took place in one of their music rooms. Different Primary schools chose 4 pupils to go to this workshop. Brookfield, Peatmoor, Haydon Leigh, West Leigh and Millbrook pupils took part in the workshop. They had to learn about the music that took place in Africa. They watched a small film about African women performing a piece of music. They listened carefully to the rhythm and how they perform their music. The teacher Mrs Few taught the class about the different equipment that Greendown used for music lessons. They had a wide range of instruments including hand sonics. Hand sonics are basically machines that when you hit them they make a different drum sound. They’re drums but not drums if you get what I mean? They looked at African instruments and how to use them. They all got into groups and had to follow music patterns sometimes it got pretty confusing! Holly and Anahita from Peatmoor Community School both said they really enjoyed going on the hand sonics. Mrs Few said they all did very well. All the children enjoyed it! Angela Proctor Primary School coordinator from Greendown came at the end of the lesson to greet the children and hoped they had fun! Bradon Teachers Visit Peatmoor By Lewis

On Monday 19th January two Bradon forest teachers came I to teach us about probability. I was a little outspoken when I saw what we had to do because for a minute it looked really hard but actually it was really easy. We had a sheet of laminated piece of a paper. It had some statements on it and we had to say if it was impossible, possible or certain. There two games and they were really fun and while we were playing the games we had think of why we were winning or why we were loosing. The games that we played were really easy and hard at the same time. We all hope that both of them can come in again and show us some more things we would be learning. In the rest of this week we will be having some more teachers from Bradon to teach us some other great subject. Most of us will be going to Bradon so we really hope that they can come in again. We all really liked the teachers and we really liked the work we did, it was really fun. Georgia’s, opinion is that it is a great experience for them to come in and let us see what kind of things we would be doing in secondary. Ella’s opinion, I thought it was quite fun and I thought it was a really good lesson. My opinion, I thought that it was really good, I expected it to be really hard but it was really easy. I really hope that they can come in again and bring some harder things.

What a Wonderful World by Megan W

The colorful rainbow in the sky. Way up there high, high. Soaring across the air. Go up if you dare! Where is the pot of gold? It might be somewhere cold……… The peak of the mountain in the sky. The peak of a mountain covered in snow. Like a quarter of a pie. Hear the echo way up high. I am not going to tell a lie! The golden sun shining in the south. Like an open mouth. The sound of the calming waves. Whispers in the blue……

What a Wonderful World by Bradley

The rainbow sat there peacefully in the sun. Waves echoing through the air. The dark waves crashing against each other. The rainbow comes out and shines its perfect colours. There is red, blue, pink, green, yellow, gold, silver and white glistening in the shining sky. The dark night comes out and made it very dark. Children playing in the sea echoing very far. Seagulls flying around if I move I might fly as well through the glistening air.
