Suzuki unveil a Splash hit
A NEW mini-MPV model from Suzuki will be in showrooms at Pebley Beach Wroughton and Cirencester from March 8.
The Suzuki Splash (pictured), which was officially launched at the International Motor Show in Frankfurt in December, combines the sportiness of Suzuki's successful model Swift with the technologies and immense know-how of the Japanese world market leader in the mini-car segment.
Dominic Threlfall, co-director of Pebley Beach, said: "The Splash is not the successor of any specific former Suzuki model, but a brand-new concept to satisfy the needs of demanding European customers in terms of roominess, compactness, modern design, aerodynamics, quality, driveability, performance and environmental friendliness.
"The safety equipment encompasses state-of-the-art features such as six airbags and an Electronic Stability Program. The eye-catching design, packed with interesting shapes and curves, successfully pulls off that often-tricky combination of sporty styling and a relatively tall body. Strongly flared wings, a bold nose and a flowing roof-line are all key elements in creating Splash's friendly, endearing personality.
"The Splash is based on the chassis of the sporty Swift, but at 1.6 metres, the Splash has a relatively tall body, offering a comfortable roomy cabin with sufficient legroom for adults on all seats.
"Its modern design not only looks very cool, but leads to excellent aerodynamic efficiency and, consequently, to low carbon-dioxide emissions. The 1.3 litre diesel option is capable of 62.8mpg, making it one of the most environmentally-friendly cars on the road and a qualifier for the £35 annual road tax for greener cars.
"The 1.2 petrol version is available as a GLS, GLS+ and automatic model. All the models will be a big hit with existing and new customers."
Meanwhile, there are some great deals to be had on the whole Suzuki range this spring, including the eternally-popular Suzuki Swift hatchback.
