Bringing home the bacon for breakfast club

BROADGREEN Breakfast Club is to benefit from an injection of charity cash.

Fifteen teams of four golfers, either groups or businesses, took part in a golf day including Arkells, the Swindon MS centre, Swindon Rotary Club, Ferndale Aerials and Triumph International at the Wrag Barn Golf Club in aid of local charity project Swindon Cares.

The event was pronounced a success by Helen Marks, the Advertiser's new business development manager, who hopes the day will raise £12,500.

Places for the day cost £50 a person.

The three chosen charities are Broadgreen Breakfast Club, Swindon Samaritans, and Swindon Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre.

Swindon Cares is backed by the Swindon Advertiser, Arkell's Brewery, Swindon Council, BBC Radio Swindon, Nationwide, Zurich, the Rotary Club of Swindon and Layton Blackman Insurance Brokers and has raised more than £85,000 for local charities over five years.
