Cllr Dale Heenan "I have just heard from Deputy Leader of the Council, Fionuala Foley, that a Heavy Rain warning that has been issued for Covingham and Nythe.

We have been assured that the gullies have been cleaned where needed with Swindon Commercial Services out yesterday.

Highways are out today ploughing/clearing the approach roads to schools SCS will be out tonight gritting all 'A' routes and putting a sand/grit mix down on 'B' routes

If there is heavy rainfall and the large amounts of snow in the area melts, the volume of water could cause problems for the area and localised flooding!

While we don't expect anything as bad as the July 07 flooding, please be vigilant and take appropiate precautions to be safe."
