DOZENS of students got their heads down for a 'Riveting Readathon' at Kingsdown School.
Pupils from Highworth and Dorcan schools joined them in reading five books and voting for their favourite.
Ally Kennen's 'Berserk' took top spot.
The children were asked to read five stories before the day and perform colourful presentations to the rest of the group.
The schools take it in turns to host the annual event. "This is the second year I have been involved, " said teacher Robin Cook, who organised the latest one. "The children performed very well."
Lin Curtis, Kingsdown School's learning resources centre manager, said: "The students all mixed very well.
"They all worked on Powerpoint presentations on one of the books they were given and the presentations were fantastic.
"We gave out prizes for the best one before they voted for their favourite book. It is such a good exercise for promoting reading for pleasure and they all get a lot out of it.
"It was nice to see everyone working so well across the three schools and it was a really good afternoon."
