Despite the fire which has meant that The Salvation Army Hall in Chapel Street, Gorse Hill cannot be used for at least six months the work and the programme is once again up and fully running.
Help received by other churches and Gorse Hill Junior and Infant Schools has proved to be invaluable. Words cannot fully express how grateful we are for all the practical help and support received. It is because of this help and support that we will be able to host our Christmas Day meal for those who will be on their own on that important day.
Swindon Gorse Hill Baptist Church are allowing us use their facilities and so we are able to hold this special event there.
The day, which will consist of a full Christmas lunch, entertainment and a prepared tea, is open to anyone who is on their own and would love to share with other people on that day. This includes married couples who may not have family and friends to share the day with (transport can be provided).
If last year is anything to go by, it promises to be a great day. Obviously we need to know how many people will be coming so please contact Major Fred Thompson or Gabrielle Tyrrell on 01793 828460 (leave a message if no answer). Major Fred can also be contacted on 07737 752792.
Based on information supplied by Major Fred Thompson.
