Connecting People Connecting places The next North Cluster road show / drop in event is on the 19th October 2009 between 15:30 -19:30. The venue is North Swindon library and the theme for this event will be Independence and Well Being. Cllr David Renard said "This event will be of interest to everyone who is keen to remain active and lead an independent life. For example, there will be advice and support available to help keep people whose circumstances have changed during the recession in their homes and to reassure those who are concerned about community safety. There will also be ideas on how people can get more involved in their local community.'' This event will give Swindon Council , the Police the Primary Care Trust , local Parish Councils and other local organisations an opportunity to talk to residents about the services and support available, as well as for residents to talk to the organisations about their needs and concerns. The library is normally closed on a Monday but will be open for business during this time. The last cluster road show / event was held at the Tawny Owl at Taw Hill and the theme was free time. Around 300 local residents visited the venue and this gave Swindon council providers and other organisations an opportunity to talk to residents about how they meet the needs of local residents and ask them for suggestions for improvements to services.
