Brightening up Buckhurst Field

Swindon Walcot and Parks Community Group, pupils of Goddard Park Community Primary School, pupils of Mountford Manor Primary School joined forces with the local Neighbourhood Wardens to build and plant up some planters around five recently planted Ash trees on the Chickerell Road side of Buckhurst Field. SWAP found funding for the materials and Midge Hall Nurseries very kindly donated lots of annuals for us to put in the planters. The pupils, Neighbourhood Wardens and some SWAP members thoroughly enjoyed the morning's work and it is hoped that residents will find pleasure in the splash of colour for some months to come. SWAP are hoping to plant some Spring flowering bulbs in the Autumn to keep the cheerful colour going into next year.
