Swindon Walcot and Parks Community Group have their monthly meeting on Friday October 28th at the Walcot Dome Community Centre starting at 7 p.m. They will be discussing their plans for two Christmas parties, one for older residents and one for primary age children which have been funded with a very generous grant from Zurich Community Trust and a smaller grant from Tesco Community Fund for which they are most grateful. They will also have an update of the proposed plan to drain Buckhurst Recreational Field on which they are working in partnership with Swindon Borough Council's Parks Department and Robins F.C., a local junior football club. The planters around the Ash trees, along the side of Chickerell Road, are due for a revamp and they are hoping to involve local primary school children in doing this. Any help with any of these items would be welcomed and all residents are invited to attend the meeting.
