 Priory Vale is in the parish of Blunsdon St Andrew, an area which dates back to the Iron Age. In November 2001, Priory Vale's Northern Orbital Road was opened, allowing work to start on the new housing development. In 2002, the Barnes family became the first residents to move in. Since then, development has included a visitor centre (now closed), learning campus, two primary schools and shops. Priory Vale is now a thriving new part of Swindon.
