Swindon Film Society will be coming to Purton on 1st April, with the first of what is hoped will be a regular programme of films in the village.
The film to be shown, at Purton Village Hall, is SON OF RAMBOW, a coming-of-age comedy about the escapades of two schoolboys trying to make a video in 1980’s Britain. The film starts at 7:45 pm., and doors will be open from 7:15 for refreshments.
Admission costs £4, or £3 for SFS members and concessions, and tickets will be available on the night, or in advance from Purton Council Office or the Spar shop. Any profits from the evening will be donated to Purton Village Hall funds.
Swindon Film Society has run very successful film seasons in Highworth for the last three years (as well as the regular films at Swindon Arts Centre) and is now looking to see whether there is interest in other town and villages to extend the programme. The Society hopes that people will come along on 1st April for an enjoyable evening, and, if the evening is successful, that some of them will want to get involved in choosing and organising more films in Purton the future.
