Planting bulbs to help nurses

CHILDREN from the 1st Wootton Bassett Kingfisher Beaver will get their hands dirty for charity by planting daffodil bulbs in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Each child has been given their own 'mini pot' to plant daffodil bulbs in during the autumn term.

When the daffodils bloom in spring, they will take them home to somebody they care about in return for a small donation to Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Every pound raised goes to the work of the Marie Curie Nurses, whose care gives terminally ill patients the choice of dying at home, supported by their families.

The planting will take place at the group's HQ in Muddy Lane in Wootton Bassett, near the fire station, at 6.15pm on Thursday, October 16.
