WOOTTON BASSETT Christmas lights will be switched on on Friday, December 5.
The festivities will run from 6.15pm to 9pm and the High Street will be closed to traffic at the Coxstalls roundabout to a point near the Town Hall at the junction with Station Road from 6pm to 9pm.
There will be plenty to see and do and it should be a great night for all the family. Entertainment will include craft and charity stalls, late-night shopping, stilt-walkers and a children's workshop.
The town council is also running a Christmas colouring competition for children aged five to 12.
Youngsters are invited to paint, draw or make a traditional Christmas scene and the winner will switch on the Christmas lights and enjoy a ride in Santa's sleigh.
Entries must be in by November 15 and should be sent to Wootton Bassett Town Council, 117 High Street, Wootton Bassett SN4 7AU. Remember to include your name, age, address and telephone number with your entry.
