Tree Planting on Buckhurst Recreational Field
10:02am Tuesday 13th March 2012 in Your News
Swindon Walcot and Parks Community Group, Swindon Borough Council alongside Dorcan Technical College, Churchfields Academy students and the neighbourhood wardens will be tree planting on Buckhurst Recreational Field on March 7th at 10 a.m.
The funding for the trees has been obtained through the Forestry Commission’s Big Tree Plant grant which has been won by the Great Western Community Forest. Any residents who would like to take part (or just urge us on) are invited to come along at 10 a.m. to Buckhurst Park Community Centre (formerly Walcot Dome Community Centre) and then walk down for the planting on the lower field by Marlowe Avenue. Some further planting of larger trees will be done by Swindon Commercial Services as heavy machinery needs to be used to plant these.
It is hoped to serve refreshments in Buckhurst Park Community Centre (formerly Walcot Dome Community Centre) afterwards.
