Kilmington Primary School claim they know Swindon after working on the town for three weeks.

We have found from these lessons with student teacher Mr Tye that Swindon has a train station, a Gala bingo and several schools. We have also learnt sbout the Magic Round-a-bout and how it works.

My favourite fact though is that electricity came to Swindon in 1903. We have also been making pamphlets and even map reading, but non of it would have happened without Mr.Tye.

We here at Kilmington Primary school primary school have been working on Swindon.

The thing we have enjoyed the most was crawling on the table identifying places in Swindon on a street map.

We also looked on our big whiteboard and tried to gues where Swindon was. Just a few weeks ago, we found out what our favourite facts about Swindon were. My favourite fact about Swindon is ‘you can never go around the Magic Roundabout the right way.’ So far that’s all we’ve learnt about Swindon.

The village of Kilmington has been recently learning about Swindon. Let’s see if we have got it right.

We have learnt in our geography lessons that Swindon is an enormous town. It’s an elephant compared to our village.

Here are the things we know. Swindon has 64 schools, 1 theatre and a roundabout with 5 roundabouts inside named the Magic Roundabout.

My favourtie thing about Swindon is the Magic Roundabout because it’s amazing that cars can go round orderly.

At Kilmington primary school we learnt about Swindon town and Swindon’s landmarks.

Facts like Swindon town has the famous magic roundabout but my favourite fact is that Swindon has a football club the name of that football club is Swindon town f-c.

It is my favourite fact because football is my favourite sport. I have found out that Swindon has one theatre one football stadium. And that the person who chose the train station position was Daniel Gooch.

I enjoyed learning about Swindon because it has famous landmarks.

Swindon is in the middle of Oxford and Bristol. It is a very large town.

It’s urban area is roughly 200,000. Swindon has a hockey team and a football team.

We have done leaflets and geography work about Swindon.

Swindon was chosen by Daniel Goodch, the station was made by Isambard Kingdom Brunel.

There are 11 secondary schools and 53 Primary. There are 65 in total.

In Kilmington school we looked up places using co-ordinates on a map, as well as doing the pamphlet that we put information about Swindon.

When we did our pamphlets we were in groups and we got to write things in out own pamphlet.

When we did the map work we got a sheet with things and places to find on the map.

My favourite thing was doing the pamphlet and I found out that a dentist had to take 2000 teeth out and in Swindon they had the first station refreshment rooms.

We have learnt about Swindon in our geography lesson we have made leaflets on Swindon and looked at what Swindon has.

We also had a map and had to look for speafic places. I’m quiet a big sports fan so I saw Swindon has a football team called Swindon town FC who are unfortounly not doing well in league 1 but I support Exeter City football club who are doing fine in league 2 they play in red and white strips with black shorts and socks.

My favourite fact about Swindon is there are 53 primary schools, 11 secondry schools and 2 collages so there’ll be lots of schools for me to go to school!

I hope you like what I said. bye!
