Sarah Singleton, renowned Gothic author, visited Greendown Community School on Wednesday 11th November to inspire and inform Year 8 pupils about Gothic writing. When she came she helped us to write our own Gothic story openings and taught us about her life and her novels. The Wiltshire writer inspired our Gothic story openings with her own novels.

She started her first novel when she was just in year 8. Even though the first wasn’t published, her 3rd novel was a hit! After this, she carried on to create more amazing books, including her favourite – The Amethyst Child.

Fulfilling her lifelong passion for writing, she works as a journalist, visits schools, but still finds time to write even more fantastic novels: Such as Century, Heretic and Sacrifice.

She is a truly amazing author and we would like to thank her for coming to Greendown.
