Garrett McBaker, a record breaking surfer was in a surfing competition when he broke the world record, for surfing the highest wave in the world. At thirty meters high the wave looked life threatening but Garret's surfing skills paid off because he managed to stay on.
Garrett’s father was a jockey in Portugal and he wanted his son to be the same as he was but Garrett had his own dreams to become a professional surfer. When Garret was in his teens he secretly went to surfing practise every afternoon and that’s how he became what he is now.
Garrett is very well known for his surfing prowess. Garrett has also competed in various competitions nationally and internationally and he has won every one he has entered. Garrett can be found in the Nebraska beaches, where the waves can be phenomenally high. A local surfer commented: “The waves are life threatening but can also be exhilarating.
”Without doubt Garrett is one of the best surfers in the world, his name will go down in history.
”Watching him myself made me speechless he is so amazing at what he does!”
