On Friday 2 July, eight year 7 girls to Sheffield for the National Futsal Finals.
Futsal is five-a-side football played indoors.
The rules are fairly similar to normal five-a-side football except there is a pitch marked out that you must keep the ball in and you have limited time to perform goal kicks, free kicks, kick-ins etc.
The tournament was held on Saturday 3 July at the English Institute of Sport, Sheffield.
In the group stages we faced some strong competition from Shenfield School and Sacred Heart Girls School.
We played both schools twice and managed to win one, draw one and lose two. This was enough to put us through to the semi-finals.
Unfortunately we were unable to go any further due to a 4-0 defeat to Poynton High School. We played fantastically and can hold our heads up high knowing we are in the top four in the country for U12 Girls Futsal.
The girls that played were Mollie Craig, Mya Mcknight, Amy Bains, Hannah Maisey, Lauren Maisey, Yasmin Wood, Saffron Wood and Lauren Webb.
